The Ultimate Guide for Using Beyond Teaching Resources

The Ultimate Guide to Using Beyond Teaching Resources

Don’t forget, we’re running a promotional offer for trainee teachers – all teaching students receive our Ultimate Membership (full access to over 650,000 resources) completely FREE using the code ‘TEACHINGBEYOND’ on this page: OFFER. The offer runs from Tuesday 8th to Wednesday 30th June 2021. Not a teacher but still want to use this code? (Looks over shoulder)…don’t worry, take advantage of it anyway and we won’t say anything!.... Don’t forget to use the code TEACHINGBEYOND for access to our resources.

So, you’ve landed on the Beyond home page and you’re looking to find the Secondary teaching resources that are most relevant to you.

In case you were unsure, Beyond is the Secondary-specific branch of Twinkl. Put simply, Twinkl look after resources and services from KS1 and KS2 and Beyond look after resources and services from KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Whether you’re aiming to stock up on a unit’s worth of teaching resources or searching for a single worksheet to cover a specific topic, we hope this short guide will keep your visit efficient and enjoyable.

N.B. Outside of this page, our Secondary Membership Guide is also a great resource to reference when maximising your Beyond experience.

From the Beyond Teaching Resources Home Page

Beyond Teaching Resources Homepage

From here, you’ll see how to get to English, Maths and Science at KS3 and KS4 (Secondary).

For KS5 teaching materials on the same subjects, you can take advantage of the menu at the top of the page.

Using the KS3/KS4 tab – it makes sense, honest – you’ll find separate KS5 English – Full Collection, KS5 Maths – Full Collection and KS5 Science – Full Collection links at the bottom of each respective subject’s tab.

Beyond Teaching Resources Menu

This ‘mega menu’(!) will also provide you with quick access to several other useful links so it’s worth making use of it where needed.

For Secondary subjects outside of English, Maths and Science, you can head over to the left-hand panel of links (the ‘Also Available’ section).

Beyond Teaching Resources: Also Available

Relationships and Sex Education has a dedicated link and may form part of PSHE lessons. Humanities covers Geography, History and Religious Education teaching resources, Languages includes French, German and Spanish, whilst Art, Design & Technology covers Design & Technology, Food, Nutrition, Hospitality & Catering and Art & Design

It’s worth noting that, at present, we only actively produce new resources for English, Maths, Science and RSE. Subjects outside of this core group are covered with a (good) range of older content, though we do not produce new materials like we do for the four aforementioned subjects…sorry…..though perhaps one day….. 🤞

Form Tutors

You may be a regular form tutor or a teacher covering occasional form periods. Either way, we have an excellent selection of resources to help you along the way.

Teacher Toolbox

The ‘Teacher Toolbox’ link includes a range of fantastic secondary resources that fall outside of core teaching but form an equally important part of students’ education.

Here, you will find assembly material, organisation tools, tools for careers guidance, corridor displays, festivals & events and form tutor resources.

In the Form Tutor section, you’ll find around 100 different teaching resources that span games, quizzes, debate packs, revision timetable templates, transition booklets, absorbing activities, fun tasks and more besides.

The Beyond Blog and YouTube Channel

Using our handy ‘Also Available’ list once again, you will also see the links to our blog site (from which you’re reading this!) and our YouTube channel.

Beyond Blog & YouTube Channel

The spread of content across both sections provide additional source material that enhances the resources on our main site. Fascinating blog posts and YouTube videos are uploaded regularly so be sure to bookmark these links too!

Free Teaching Resources!

Not in a position to take a membership just yet? Don’t worry, you can still enjoy a fantastic selection of freebies.

There’s a good number of free resources across Beyond’s pages and a good place to start would probably be with our Free Taster Packs. These ‘samplers’ offer a good idea of what we do across KS3, KS4 and KS5 whilst empowering you to put your best foot forward in the classroom.

Internal Search

If you have an exact idea of what you want, you can also try out the search function at the top of the page.

Just bear in mind that our search can be a wee bit unwieldy so you might need a little venture down the page to find exactly what you are looking for!

Type in what you are looking for – e.g. ‘standard form worksheet’- and (hopefully) you’ll find a selection of resources that match your search item.

Beyond Site Search

It Doesn’t Stop There…

The site is vast and growing faster than an adolescent student so it’s well worth taking your time to explore.

If there’s something you need topic-wise, the chances are we’ll have something to meet your needs. And on those occasions where you can’t find what you need (disregarding the occasionally disobedient internal search), those of you on Ultimate memberships can make a request to Twinkl Cares for your desired resource.

Don’t forget, we make new resources every day and want to put you in the best position to enjoy their use. So, we hope you settle into the site, find your way around, and become a long-term friend of Beyond!
