Homologous Series: Cycloalkanes – A Level Chemistry Revision

Cycloalkanes are saturated hydrocarbons arranged in rings rather than chains. They are named using the prefix cyclo- followed by the root denoting the number of carbon atoms in the ring.

They have a general formula CnH2n (this general formula can also apply to alkenes).
